Faster notes. Clear recaps. Less table stress.

Built by people who also forget NPC names, lose plot threads, and still want the session to feel easy.

TABLEBUDDY

TableBuddy helps you keep track of the stuff your party absolutely will ask about three sessions from now.

What is TableBuddy?

TableBuddy is a GM/DM note tool for tabletop RPGs. Write the messy notes you already write, then quickly find the NPCs, choices, and recap your table will ask about later.

Open the playtest app
Try it in 5 minutes
  1. Create a campaign and session
  2. Add 2 NPCs
  3. Write 8-10 notes, including a couple NPC names
  4. Tell me what felt great or got in the way

How it works

Session-first flow

Start a session, jot down the messy stuff, and keep the app out of the way while people are rolling dice.

NPCs stay close

Keep names, motives, and recurring faces close while you write.

Clean recap

Wrap with a recap you can skim before everyone asks, "Wait, where were we?"

Playtest goal: I'm looking for quick feedback on whether TableBuddy makes notes feel calmer at the table.
What you get
  • A fast place for messy session notes.
  • NPCs and campaign details that stay close while you write.
  • A clean recap for when everyone asks what happened last time.
What you're helping test
  • Does moving from campaign to session to dashboard feel natural while you're running a game?
  • Do NPCs feel easy to create and reference while writing notes?
  • Is the recap actually useful right before your next session?
  • Does anything feel slow, confusing, or one click too many?
  • Does backup/restore feel safe and understandable?
Note: This is an early playtest build (v0.1.x), so you may bump into rough edges, missing features, and occasional bugs. Your feedback helps shape the next version.

How to test (copy/paste)
  1. Create a campaign.
  2. Add 2 NPCs (real names help).
  3. Create a session.
  4. Write 8-10 notes. Mention NPC names naturally.
  5. End the session, view the recap, and tell me if it matches what happened.
Three questions
  • What felt awesome?
  • What was confusing or annoying?
  • What did you expect to exist but couldn't find?

FAQ

Is this free?

Yes. During the v0.1.x playtest, access is free. My goal right now is feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, and what saves you a little brain space at the table.

Where is my data stored?

Your campaigns and sessions are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). Using a different device/browser, incognito mode, or clearing site data will start fresh unless you export a backup.

I left feedback, now what?

I review feedback regularly, group it into bugs vs. improvements, and prioritize the stuff that blocks play or causes confusion. If you leave an email, I may reply with a follow-up question or let you know when a fix ships.

Privacy note: Your email is used for playtest updates you opt into or to reply to feedback you submit. I don't sell your personal information. Basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page visits, referrers, button events, and thank-you conversions) help improve the site. Your campaign and session data stays in your browser in the current local-first app. For more detail, read the Privacy Policy.
